Partnership with YMCA of Greenwich

The YMCA of Greenwich and The Brant Foundation Art Study Center have recently announced a partnership that will enable the YMCA’s After School Program and Summer Camp a unique art educational experience.

The YMCA of Greenwich and The Brant Foundation Art Study Center will be offering presentations in April and June at the YMCA after school locations. PIFS Visits The Brant Foundation

The Brant Foundation Art Study Center welcomed Putman Indian Field School this past December during our Julian Schnabel exhibition. The PIFS students enjoyed an educational tour of Schnabel's works followed by a workshop. Similar to Julian Schnabel's famous plate portraits, the students from PIFS created their very own plate self portraits. Read more

Side By Side School Visit

On Thursday, Septmeber 12th, The Brant Foundation Art Study Center hosted 22 students from the Side By Side School in collaboration with the Westport Arts Center's Connections Program. The students explored key themes in the Andy Warhol exhibition. After their visit, the students worked with teaching artist Sarah Kelly to create works of art inspired by their visit and the works of art they studied. Read more

On March 8th, a group of undergraduate students from Pratt Institute came to visit The Brant Foundation. As an Art Study Center, The Brant Foundation has made it a mission to reach out to as many educational institutions as possible, serving as a platform for scholarly study. Bronxville High School

On November 29th, a group of talented AP Art History students from Bronxville High School visited the Brant Foundation. As an Art Study Center, The Brant Foundation has made it a mission to reach out to as many educational institutions as possible, serving as a platform for scholarly study. The students from Bronxville High School will each complete an exhibition review that will be a permanent contribution to The Brant Foundation library. Read more

2012 Greenwich Preservation Award

The Brant Foundation, Inc. is pleased to be presented with a “2012 Greenwich Preservation Award” as part of the 81st Annual Meeting of the Greenwich Historical Society. Greenwich Preservation Awards celebrate the architectural heritage and honor individuals, organizations and projects of historical and architectural significance that demonstrate the aesthetic, cultural of economic benefits of preservation. This year, The Brant Foundation is among the honorees “ for adaptive use of the stone barn as Art Study Center.”

Manhattan Apparel Project

The Manhattan Apparel Project is a social fashion brand that aims to bring art education to local youth regardless of background, means, or gender. All of the workshops are completely free of charge and funded through sales of the Manhattan Apparel line of clothing. Led by emerging and established artists and designers, the workshops explore a variety of different styles and media as influenced by each guest artist. This past July, the Brant Foundation hosted a workshop influenced by the work of Karen Kilimnik.

The Brant Foundation is pleased to announce a major exhibition of works by Karen Kilimnik opening on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at The Brant Foundation Art Study Center. The exhibition will include installation, paintings, photographs and drawings from the years 1982 – 2012. These works reference subjects as seemingly disparate as witchcraft, Napoleon, World War II, set design, the solar system, magic and equestrian themes. Read more
