Art Study Center

The Brant Foundation is committed to serving as an educational resource for students studying at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Continuing education institutions, colleges, and universities are invited to visit The Brant Foundation’s exhibitions and participate in higher-ed programs such as Q&A discussions, classroom lectures, and our Student Artwork Photography Program.

These programs, along with our internship and library opportunities, prepare and assist students throughout their academic careers by providing expert knowledge, practical experience, and exclusive resources.

Student Artwork Photography Program

The proper documentation of artwork is critical when building a successful professional portfolio. After diligently listening to student feedback, The Brant Foundation’s Student Artwork Photography Program was implemented to combat deficiencies in portfolio-building resources by offering opportunities for students to have their artwork professionally photographed while learning from experts, free of charge. This program is designed to address the needs of art students and provide the knowledge and resources needed to propel them forward towards future endeavors.

Photography sessions can be scheduled to take place at either The Brant Foundation or the student’s affiliated college, depending on scheduling, availability, and quantity of works. This program is open to serious artists studying at undergraduate and graduate levels – students and teachers are both welcome to inquire about either individual or class photography sessions. Classroom Lectures

Our classroom lectures, specifically-designed to coincide with individual course curriculum, are created to encourage and support student art endeavors and the study of contemporary art. Taking place on location during scheduled class hours, our classroom lectures offer students exposure to distinguished art professionals as they address relevant subjects on contemporary art. Common discussion topics include: Conservation & Care, Art Handling Techniques, Architecture & Design, and Portfolio Building / Career Preparation.

Internship Program

The Brant Foundation’s Internship Program provides hands-on opportunities for high school and college students, recent graduates and young professionals looking to gain experience working in the arts. Our internship program is unique in that it is designed around the individual’s specific areas of interest, academic background, skill-set, and career goals. Rather than being assigned to a single department or project, interns have the option to focus on a particular area of interest or participate in crossover training across a wide range of responsibilities. The objective of the internship program is to offer motivated individuals the opportunity to learn the professional skills and museum training necessary for a career in the arts.

Areas of focus include: research & writing, art handling, graphic design, educational outreach, social media & marketing, and more.

Library Science Internship Program

The Brant Foundation Art Study Center
